SawStop 10" Industrial Table Saw
We have two of these. One has a 24 inch extension table. The other has a 40 inch extension. One is usually equipped with the cross-cut blade, and the other a rip or combination blade. A dado set can be installed on either saw, but contact a Monitor first. Be sure to read the Operating Manual and get a checkout on the machine before using it the first time. If you are in doubt about how things work, contact a Monitor or one of the club's officers.

WHEN RIPPING:
FOR OTHERS, GO TO www.scovwoodworkingclub.com/sawstop-table-saw.html.
==================================
WHEN RIPPING:
- STAND TO THE LEFT OF THE BLADE AND FENCE AND USE A PUSH STICK OR BLOCK IN YOUR RIGHT HAND TO CONTROL AND PUSH THE STOCK PAST THE BLADE AND AGAINST THE FENCE.
- THE LENGTH OF THE BOARD AGAINST THE FENCE MUST BE LONGER THAN THE WIDTH OF THE BOARD.
- DON’T STAND IN THE DIRECT LINE OF THE SPINNING BLADE. THE CLUB DOESN’T PROVIDE BODY ARMOR.
- MAKE SURE THE RIVING KNIFE IS INSTALLED.
- DON’T RIP A BOARD WITH THE FENCE CLOSER TO THE BLADE THAN ¼ INCH. THERE ARE BETTER, SAFER WAYS TO CUT THIN STRIPS.
- NEVER CUT FREEHAND.
- DON’T CROSSCUT WITHOUT THE USE OF A SLED OR MITER GAUGE.
- DON’T DISABLE THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
- NEVER ASSUME THE BRAKE SYSTEM WILL KEEP YOU FROM BLEEDING.
- POSITION THE POWER DISCONNECT SWITCH AND MASTER POWER SWITCH TO OFF BEFORE CHANGING A BLADE.
- DON’T INCORPORATE FINGER TIPS INTO YOUR PROJECT. BEFORE CUTTING SMALL PARTS, LOCATE/FABRICATE AND USE JIGS, FIXTURES AND OTHER DEVICES TO PROVIDE A SAFE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOUR FINGERS AND THE BLADE.
- THOSE WHO CAUSE BRAKE ACTIVATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO REIMBURSE THE CLUB FOR THE COST OF THE BRAKE AND BLADE. CONSULT THE CLUB’S WEBSITE FOR PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW AFTER BRAKE ACTIVATION.
Avoiding Dangerous Kickbacks
The safest way to make the cut described is by using a cross cut sled.
