Oscillating Drum Sander Abuse
The Shop Operating Rules say that the sanding machines are to be used for sanding bare wood only, i.e. they are not to be used for removing paint and other finishes. Sanding of oily and resinous woods should also be avoided. The photo below of the oscillating drum sander was taken on September 23, 2015 and shows what happens when this common sense rule isn't followed. Occurrences such as this are hard on the Woodworking Club's budget and can lead to further increases in annual dues.
